The Tuftco ColorTron machine is uniquely new tufting technology that allows for production of soft floor covering that will compete with Axminster woven carpet and other weaving processes. The advantages, in a word “VERSATILITY”, of the ColorTron technology over previous tufting techniques are as follows: The gauge of the machine is not fixed -- it is programmable, therefore, the density of the fabric tufted is a function of the gauge or pitch programmed along with the yarn size being utilized. Of course, stitch rate is programmable as well.
ColorTron is designed for maximum production utilizing six (6) colors of yarn. However, more colors may be added with the initial setup of the machine, bearing in mind that production is somewhat reduced with the addition of more colors. The machine is capable of tufting up to 24 colors in a given fabric. Though six (6) ends of yarn are typically threaded to each needle, can program to sew more than one end in any given tuft, meaning the gauge is programmable & variable within a given fabric; i.e.. 1/10 Gauge in some areas x 1/20 Gauge (DD- Double Density) in other areas: can program to sew two (2) ends/ needle at 1/5 Gauge to produce 1/10 Gauge (DP- Double Production).
