Certain special applications utilize the tufting process for the production of synthetic turf that is used in a variety of applications including athletic fields, outdoor recreation areas, as well as artificial lawns.  These machines normally are designed with Tuftco's HP (high pile) needle drive system for producing longer strands of tuft.  These machines are also used for the production of "shag" and "flokati type" fabrics.
